Membership of CBMOA entitles you to lay mooring tackle on a defined
spot within the designated moorings area.
WITHIN THE RE-ORGANISED AREA
Towards the northern end of the moorings area, a large section was re-organised with the smallest boats inshore and bigger ones
progressively further out in 2 metre steps. In this area, the positions and maximum boat
sizes of all mooring spots are known and prospective new members will
have to possess or acquire boats in accordance with the designated
overall length.
So, when thinking of buying a mooring or if you plan to change your boat
on an existing mooring - remember authorised lengths of
moorings apply, and plan accordingly. Ensure the overall length of the proposed boat is within the authorised
length of the mooring you propose to use, and seek approval from the Committee for any
change of boat before making a commitment.
OUTSIDE THE RE-ORGANISED AREA
If a mooring space outside the reorganised area is allocated, a marker
weight and buoy must be laid as soon as possible to reserve the position
and give neighbouring mooring owners a chance to warn of possible
problems. The final mooring tackle can follow whenever appropriate.
A mooring space cannot be sublet or transferred on a seasonal or
permanent basis without the Association’s prior consent, which will not
be unreasonably withheld.
sale of moorings
Details of moorings for sale are notified to the Secretary.
The mooring space on the sea bed is not a members or holders to sell - the space is the property of the Crown Estate. It's the lease of the space that is available for transfer to the next owner. Any ground tackle may be sold as it is an individuals property.
There's a one-off administration fee payable for the transfer of an existing lease to a new owner - who must be a member of CBMOA.
