CBMOA AGM 2012

[March 2012]
CBMOA AGM was held on 12th March in Oban Sailing Club, Dungallan Parks

Welcome to Cardingmill Bay Mooring Owners Association
located in Oban Bay, on the West Coast of Scotland

Cardingmill Bay Moorings Owners Association - CBMOA - holds a Section 34 lease from the Crown Estate Commission to manage and administer approximately 100 moorings positions in the southern part of Oban Bay off the mainland shore in the stretch of water from Ardcuan in the Southwest to adjacent to the Lighthouses’ pier in the Northeast.

CBMOA co-ordinates the organisation of jetties, slips, moorings and anchorage within that area and represents the members' interests in dealing with other parties.

All holders of moorings positions within the designated area of water in Cardingmill Bay must be members of CBMOA.

All the mooring positions at the northern end of the area are arranged with moorings for smaller vessels located inshore, and larger ones spaced progressively further out. Mooring positions closer to the southern end include an area traditionally used by small locally owned fishing boats and workboats.

CBMOA have standard mooring tackle maintenance requirements for all equipment laid.  Work to maintain or test any  mooring tackle or equipment must be carried out by  a contractor with appropriate insurance cover; and all vessels using any of the moorings within the designated area are required to carry Third Party insurance as a minimum.
