Welcome to Cardingmill Bay Mooring Owners Association
located in Oban Bay, on the West Coast of Scotland
Cardingmill Bay Moorings Owners Association - CBMOA - holds a Section 34 lease from the Crown Estate Commission to manage and administer approximately 100 moorings in the southern part of Oban Bay off the mainland shore in the stretch of water from Ardcuan in the Southwest to adjacent to the Lighthouses’ pier in the Northeast.
CBMOA co-ordinates the organisation of jetties, slips, moorings and anchorage within that area and represents the members' interests in dealing with other parties.
All owners of moorings within the designated area of water in
Cardingmill Bay must be members of CBMOA.
All the moorings at the northern end of the area were re-organised a few
years ago, with moorings for smaller vessels located inshore, and larger
ones spaced progressively further out. Moorings closer to the southern
end include an area traditionally used by small locally owned fishing
boats and workboats.
There are standard mooring maintenance requirements, which must be met
or exceeded by a contractor with suitable insurance to cover the mooring
being maintained / tested and all vessels are required to carry Third
Party insurance as a minimum.
